Seonyoung Kim, PhD

Senior Support Scientist

Seonyoung Kim is a Senior Support Scientist at Bernard Becker Medical Library’s Data Management and Sharing Group. She conducts data interviews and assists researchers with repository selection and data curation for the WashU institutional repository, Digital Commons@Becker. She also provides consultation services on data management and sharing (DMS) and writing DMS plans. She is the WashU DMPTool administrator and a working member of the national DMPTool-NIH Template Working Group, developing NIH templates and guidance. She has over 25 years of experience working in academic and industry research lab settings. Before joining the Becker Library Group, she managed the WUSM In Vivo Imaging Core, specializing in 3D/4D imaging data capture, analysis, and archiving. Prior to joining WashU, she worked at the University of Michigan, MinMed, Allergan, and Monsanto on various projects ranging from protein purification and characterization, formulation development, and analytical method development/validation to managing the stability evaluation program. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of California, Irvine, and an MS/BS in Chemistry from Seoul National University.
