Nicole Moore, DSc
Senior Director, Research Development
Nicole Moore joined Washington University in August 2019 as the Senior Director of Research Development. Prior to joining Washington University, Dr. Moore was the Director of Office of Research Development (ORD) at Northwestern University where she supported faculty and senior leadership in the development of new collaborative research initiatives and in the pursuit for funding. Under her leadership, ORD reached a proposal success rate above 50% and helped launch 3 large federally funded cross-disciplinary centers with funding from NSF, DoD, and NIH. Before Northwestern, Dr. Moore was a Program Director at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and oversaw a portfolio of engineering, computational, and physics based research grants related to cancer. As a scientist, she was a research chemist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) with a focus on biomaterials. She earned her B.S. in Biomolecular and Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and received her D.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University. She has received multiple awards, grants, and fellowships, including a NRC Postdoctoral fellowship and an AAAS Science Policy Fellowship.
