Meredith L Moore, PhD
Director, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
Dr. Moore received her B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware and her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science – Molecular Pathology from the University of Texas – Houston Health Science Center (UT-Health). Her post-doctoral studies at Harvard Medical School identified the gene mutation causing a rare fatal lymphedema and were featured in the book “The Family Gene – A Mission to Turn My Deadly Inheritance into a Hopeful Future” by Joselin Linder. Dr. Moore returned to UT-Health as a faculty member in Neurosurgery before transitioning into Research Administration and specializing in animal welfare compliance. She joined the WashU program in the fall of 2017 as the inaugural Director, IACUC Office. With her IACUC team, she is working to provide researchers with the tools they need to successfully navigate the federal regulations designed to ensure animal welfare.
