Micah Zeller, JD
Head of Scholarly Communication Services, University Libraries
Micah directs the activities of the Scholarly Communication Services (SCS) program for University Libraries, which include copyright and permissions advisory services, fair use, authors’ rights, open access, OER, tools for digital publishing and data sharing, guidance on licensing, and support for new modes of research dissemination. The unit is also responsible for promoting campus-wide scholarly communication programming and engagement initiatives to help faculty and students use, create, and publish scholarship in ways that promote its accessibility and impact. Micah offers individual consultations, workshops, customized presentations, and help navigating rights issues and policies that connect to research, teaching, and library services.
Micah works as Co-Editor of the Journal of Copyright in Education & Librarianship, is a member of the Missouri Bar and the University Information Policy Officers (UIPO), and serves as IP Reviewer for the Council for Library Information Resources’ Digitizing Hidden Special Collections & Archives program. He has a JD from Washington University School of Law, and has worked for University Libraries since 2013.
