Successful Grant Submission, It’s More Than the Aims Page

This session will review strategies to prioritize scientific context, specific aims, and impact of the proposed research. Based on years of experience, Graham Colditz, MD, DrPH, and Carolyn Stoll, MPH, MSW, will discuss the value of a clear list of resources and collaborators to increase the scoring for several of the key consideration in peer review: investigator team, research environment, and innovation and impact.

Participants will gain insights into structuring time lines for components of the grant that need to be assembled. The value added from close integration of biosketches and the grant text is emphasized. Examples of budget justification that reassure peer reviewers will also be discussed.
